My Process

THERAPY WORK

If we decide to enter into a therapeutic relationship, I will begin our work with an assessment phase.  This period allows me to begin to understand you and your varied life experiences in a structured way.  This phase consists of six therapist directed sessions:

Session #1- We will discuss what brings you to therapy currently.
Session #2- I will ask you specific questions relating to your family history and experiences growing up.
Session #3- I will ask you about your proudest accomplishments throughout life.
Session #4- I will ask you about any trauma you have experienced.
Session #5- I will ask you about your romantic relationship history and the story of your current relationship, if applicable.
Session #6- I will reflect back to you the salient themes/issues/patterns/concerns I have discerned thus far. I will talk for the majority of this session. At the end of this session we will co-create goals for our therapy work together. This will be the road map guiding us through our work together. We will check in periodically with our goals, celebrating accomplishments along the way and sometimes adding new goals, if and when necessary.

While the length of a therapeutic relationship is unpredictable - some people reach their goals in under a year and some take several years - I ask my clients to commit to working together for at least six months at the start, and we will reevaluate progress and goals after that time frame.

COACHING WORK

If we enter into a coaching relationship, our work will begin with you filling out two forms.  My 'intake' form will provide me with information on your background, your identified concerns and reasons you want to enter into coaching.  My 'goals' form will allow you to set goals for various time points in your future. We will come up with concrete steps that you can take every week to move towards your goals and you will be held accountable to follow through. While we may spend time digging into your past all of these insights will be leveraged to determine the actions that you should be taking to change your life right now. I ask my coaching clients to commit to a minimum of 12 sessions to begin and we will reevaluate your work/progress at that point to determine if more support is needed.

Insurance

I do not accept insurance.  I am an out-of network provider.  Please call me to discuss rates.  I advise you to call your insurance company to ask about reimbursement for psychotherapy services. Unfortunately health insurance companies do not reimburse for coaching services.  I provide you with a monthly invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Payment Methods

I accept cash, check, Chase quick pay or PayPal as methods of payment.

 

Cancellation Policy

I ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel a session.  However, if less than 24 hour notice is provided you will be charged for the cancelled or missed session.  When possible I accommodate rescheduling when 24 hour notice has been provided.
