I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boston University in 2004. I received my masters in Social Work from NYU's Silver School of Social Work in 2009 after working as a preschool teacher for several years. I began my therapy career as an in-patient psychiatric social worker at Bellevue Hospital working with severely persistently mentally ill adults. I left work at Bellevue to pursue a long time passion of child-parent relationship counseling. From 2011-2015 I worked at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Early Childhood Center providing Child-Parent Psychotherapy to young children and their parents as well as running stress reduction/mindfulness groups for parents. Over the past nineteen years I have studied Buddhist Philosophy and yoga as well as various types of meditation, chanting, breath work, visualizations, relaxation techniques and imagery with teachers from varied disciplines. I incorporate my knowledge of mindfulness practices into my coaching and therapy work to give clients tools to reduce anxiety and depression by experiencing the wonders of life in the present moment.
Three and a half years ago I moved with my husband and two children from NYC to the Hudson Valley to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, live closer to the pulse of nature, and be a part of a warm, supportive community of progressive thinkers.
